Meet Your Instructor: Dr. Jan Bellows

Dr. Bellows completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University, following a small animal internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. He founded ALL PETS DENTAL in Weston, Florida, specializing in companion animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. As a certified ABVP Canine and Feline Medicine specialist, Dr. Bellows is also recognized as a veterinary dentist™ by the American Veterinary Dental College. He has held prominent leadership roles within the veterinary dental community, including serving as president of the American Veterinary Dental College and the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Bellows authored five dental texts, such as "The Practice of Veterinary Dentistry …. A Team Effort," "Small Animal Dental Equipment, Materials, and Techniques (first and second editions)," and "Feline Dentistry (first and second editions)." He regularly writes for DVM Newsmagazine, which signifies his dedication to sharing valuable knowledge with the veterinary community. Since 1993, Dr. Bellows has been a member of the Veterinary Information Network’s dental board and played a crucial role as one of the dental experts in formulating all three of AAHA's Small Animal Dental Guidelines, which provide evidence-based recommendations for veterinary dental care.
