Mary Berg, RVT, VTS (Dentistry), is a Charter member of the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians and earned her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Dentistry in 2006, recertifying in 2020. With over 31 years in research focusing on companion animal oral health, she continues to collaborate with companies on product efficacy. Mary has also served as a practice manager and dental technician specialist. As the president of Beyond the Crown Veterinary Education, Mary has over 15 years of experience teaching veterinary teams practical dental techniques. She is involved in several professional organizations and was named NAVTA’s Veterinary Technician of the Year in 2020 and VMX Technician of the Year in 2024. Mary has contributed articles and textbook chapters and was awarded AVDT’s Excellence in Dentistry Education in 2019. Mary resides on a small farm in Kansas with her husband, Doug, and enjoys time with her two sons and five grandchildren.
